Construction Executive – Dick Gunderson Jr.
Dick Gunderson Jr. incorporated Gunderson Construction, Inc. in November of 1998. He has over 40 years of construction experience in all levels of fieldwork and management. He started his career in construction in 1972 with McGough Construction as a laborer working the summers during his time at Mahtomedi High School (class of 1975) and St. John’s University (class of 1979) where he played football and hockey; where he was an All-American Hockey player. After graduation, he continued working for McGough Construction until starting Gunderson Construction in 1998.
Dick is known for being a hands-on owner who works directly with the clients and design team in the development of the project, budget, schedule, and strategy. He monitors the project’s performance to ensure compliance with the client’s expectations and Gunderson Construction’s standards. He participates in the pre-construction and construction phases and interacts closely with the design team and subcontractors to ensure the project budget and schedules are accomplished.
Dick is also a family man and has been married to his wife Cathi for 35 years. They have 3 wonderful children (all of whom work for Gunderson Construction) Dick, Ryan, and Katie. Dick, Jr. is very active in his community and local church; sponsoring many youth activities especially the sports teams!!
Project Superintendent – Dick Gunderson III
Dick Gunderson III started with Gunderson Construction in 1998; however was only working part time while attending and graduating from Mahtomedi High School (class of 2000) and St. John’s University (class of 2004) much like his father. In 2004, Dick became a full time employee working his way to Project Superintendent.
As project Superintendent, he will have hands-on input into the development of the pre-construction schedule, construction schedule and will review plans for construction feasibility. Dick will have overall responsibility for coordination and supervision of the workplace during construction and he will work closely with the team to monitor the construction phasing schedule, quality and safety on the jobsite.
Dick recently married his wife DeAnna on 12/17/16 with a Roaring 20’s wedding celebration in Stillwater, MN.
Project Coordinator/Estimator – Tyrone Berg
Ty will work closely with the project manager in the daily administration of the project. He will be involved in analyzing and updating estimates throughout the entire project. He will be responsible for verifying quantities and completeness of bids from subcontractors and material suppliers. Ty will continuously update and refine project estimates for review by the owner and other project team members.
Financial Controller/Office Manager – Lisa Wallraff
Lisa Wallraff joined Gunderson Construction in September, 2013 as our very efficient Financial Controller/Office Manager; she’s our jack-of-all-trades go-to person. Previously, she worked for a large utility company for 9 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom/volunteer extraordinaire; is the owner of a consulting business, consulting with clients to stage homes for sale or organizing spaces; and was co-owner of a Twin Cities based drywall company.
In her spare time, her hobbies include gardening, reading, photography/ scrapbooking, volleyball, biking, camping/traveling, canoeing, piano playing, among other things. Lisa has 2 grown sons and numerous former foreign exchange kids and is active in her community and church so life is busy and full!
